Hanifaru Bay Locally known as Vadhumaafaru Adi , A marine protected area in Baa atoll has been a rich feeding ground for Manta Rays for over the years. The size of the reef ring is not bigger then a football field.

Today Hanifaru Bay has become one of the most popular places in the world to find uncountable number of Manta Rays between the months of May and November when the planktons are extreamly high in the reef ring, which makes the perfect feeding ground for Mantas.

At the same time this is not the only Magnificent Animal while divers snap shots of these gentle gaints. It is very lucky that you can see whale shark within this Manta feeding frenzy Ball Ground.

We are organizing tours specialized for Manta and Whale Shark Expedition specially for Hanifaru Bay area by our leading expereince dive guide for over the years who have been diving this uniq place long before it has got this famouse. Marine life was in clouds. Pelagics of all types. Schools of Dolphins underwater, a Scalloped Hammerhead and Mantas. Some divers saw many. My family saw three. Napolean Wrasse were like dogs. Eels were so plentiful they ceased to be a commodity. Giant, Green Zebra, Spotted Morays; they were all present. Mating octopus too. The dive profiles are relatively severe: deep and long with curents on most dives. Some currents were intense (to say the least). Diving is divided amng pinnacles, reefs, inner and outer walls of the atols that dot the azure waters. We were on the nine night/ten day itinerary which brought us to many fabled sites...more
